Music Tendancies
If you've never been to First Friday down in Downtown Phoenix, you need to go. I went with my girlfriend Angelica, my coworker Cristian, Aaron from our old band, A Thought Forgotten, and Aarons girlfriend Paige. It was the first time in quite awhile I went out with friends since I got my new job and started school and it was a much needed break. We went out and started walking around 3rd and Roosevelt looking at all the galleries and (few) bands. We had some food from the Ramen stand, where I got the curry and Yakisobe (beef and pan fried noodles) which was just amazing, got my girl scout cookies, and went around just browsing and running into people we know. We eventually ended up at the Nash, a jazz bar on 1st and Roosevelt and wow, the jazz trio was amazing. In my band A Thought Forgotten I played drums, as well as in high school drumline, concert band, and jazz band. It's been about 3 months since I hopped on the set because of switching jobs and starting school and the drummer for the jazz trio just inspired me. He was very clean, precise, and technical. It's been a long time since I've drummed and this trio made me finally get back on set and wow did it feel good. It felt like I played yesterday and the time on set just felt suspended, time went so slowly but I felt like I did so much and that kind of feeling hasn't happened since I played at the Marquee Theatre. I believe now I will make some time and possibly form a band, creativity can only be held back for so long but the question for me is, will I have the time for such a commitment? Only time will tell for me.
